Refuse to choose!

Many years that have passed, I've been wondering what to do with my life. I want to do so many things. I want to travel, learn photography, learn the piano, blog about nursing, cars, business, my country.... and the list goes on and on.

The list of the things I want to do is as long as the things that I've done. Sports for example: Biking, Karate, Basketball, Volleyball, Golf, etc. I want to be good in all of them, and I did. But a certain point came that I just became bored with it, then I start another sport to do. I just can't seem to finish or stick to anything.

One ordinary day on my way to work, I passed by a bookstore and thought of looking through the books on a particular table that was in my plain view. "It would not take me 10 minutes." I thought. There were a lot of novels, I think all of them are. Then I stumbled upon a book that was different from the rest. The book seemed to be talking to me.

Book: "Don't know what to do with your life?"
Me: "If I say 'yes', that would be awful. So 'sort of' is appropriate."
Book: "Are you drawn to so many things you can't choose one?"
Me: "How did you know?"
Book: "Do you ache to find the right direction so you can settle down and just do it?"
Me: "Have you been reading my personal diary? Wait! I don't have one. Who are you?"

I've bought some books that was like this one, but this particular book is different. I saw myself as I flipped through the pages. I was surprised and found myself laughing from time to time whenever I get the thought of "That's just like me".

According to the author there are people who have intense curiosity about so many unrelated subjects. Individuals who think that sticking to one thing that she loves would be limiting and boring. The bottom line: They want to do so many things but just can't finish anything.

The author, Barbara Sher, gave a title for people like me: A Scanner.

Are you one of us? Are you also a Scanner? Do you also want to do so many things but you are always told to stick to one specialization?

Join me in reading her book: Refuse to Choose! and discover who you are and get equipped with the tools you need as a Scanner.

Welcome back, Kris. It's been....what....a year?!?!?!?! :)

I can't promise I'll go through this book BUT I will stop in the bookstore to check it out and then decide. I have 3 books I've started and yet to finish yet. LOL

Glad to have you back. Now, stay around!

Yeah, I know.. I'll try my best to keep this blog going..

I also have some books that have read but I decided to quit when it failed to keep me hooked. I might go through them when I have the time. But I am loving this book at the moment.

I am also glad to be back.. :)
